چکیده
The data collected during long-term monitoring (LTM) of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) can reflect occupants’ exposure to contaminants and be used improve thermal comfort. As there are large differences among existing guidelines for IEQ dwellings, it is important identify a sampling method that balances accuracy, sample size cost. This paper reports the major findings developed systematic approach determining monitoring. In study, LTM was carried out in 13 naturally ventilated urban residences Kunming, China. We proposed continuous strategy (CSS) discrete (DSS). Descriptive statistics evaluate performances both strategies, found DSS could obtain more accurate than CSS. Next, an algorithm calculating optimal frequencies different parameters based on Pearson correlation coefficient. evaluated required number dwellings(RND) various satisfied statistical confidence Kunming other four cities with increase household one city, RND will reach critical threshold no longer anymore. Using this simple random principle, we also provide guidance residence. It expected results study facilitate selection similar studies future, reduced manpower consumption but representative sample.

Occupant Satisfaction with Indoor Environmental Quality in Green Buildings
This paper summarizes the results of a large indoor environmental quality survey in office buildings, comparing green with non-green buildings. On average, occupants in green buildings were more satisfied with thermal comfort and air quality in their workspace. However, the average satisfaction scores in green buildings for lighting and acoustic quality were comparable to the non-green average....
متن کاملIndoor Environmental Quality in Mechanically Ventilated, Energy-Efficient Buildings vs. Conventional Buildings
Energy-efficient buildings need mechanical ventilation. However, there are concerns that inadequate mechanical ventilation may lead to impaired indoor air quality. Using a semi-experimental field study, we investigated if exposure of occupants of two types of buildings (mechanical vs. natural ventilation) differs with regard to indoor air pollutants and climate factors. We investigated living a...
متن کاملQuantification of Improvement in Environmental Quality for Old Residential Buildings Using Life Cycle Assessment
In Slovakia, 35% of buildings are older than 50 years but most newer buildings built before 1990 have greater energy consumption. Some other countries also have similar problems. The growing importance of energy saving in buildings can be, in the case of new and old residential buildings (RB), achieved by lowering thermal energy consumption most often by application of polystyrene insulation on...
متن کاملAir Quality and Thermal Comfort in Office Buildings: Results of a Large Indoor Environmental Quality Survey
This paper presents results of over 34,000 survey responses to air quality and thermal comfort questions in 215 buildings in US, Canada, and Finland. Results show that 80% or more of the occupants expressed satisfaction with their thermal comfort in only 11% of the buildings surveyed. Air quality scores were somewhat higher, with 26% of buildings having 80% or occupant satisfaction. With respec...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effects of Environmental Factors on Office Buildings’ Indoor Environment Quality in Iran’s Cold Climate (Case study: Kermanshah)
The inappropriate indoor environmental quality of a building causes different problems such asheadache and breathing difficulties which are called the syndrome of building sickness. These diseases reduce the efficiency of people and deteriorate the quality of their life. Studies carried out in hundreds of big office buildings across the world show that the indoor environment qualities of these ...
